Additional Information
We all need to live somewhere. Whether in a big house or a cottage, an apartment or a townhome, where we live is where our sanctuary exists. We all want that place to wind down at the end of our day. We want our home to bring a smile to our faces. We dream about all the things we want and could have but struggle to get there. Contact Home Remedy to help your dreams become reality. We will guide you through the process, teaching you everything you need to know to create that more efficient, simpler, and joyful life. It’s time to be the You that you are today.
Did you know that we use only 20% of our belongings, including clothes, 80% of the time?
A little gratitude goes a long way. When we are grateful for what we have, rather than always seeking what others have, we can appreciate that less really can be more. We need to remember that we have enough of what we need. The trick to eliminating unnecessary possessions is keeping around only what serves a regular function, what sparks positive memories, and what we genuinely love. Most importantly, love yourself enough to take care of your environment. Less “stuff” is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it keeps your mind clear, improves sleep and productivity, is easier to clean and manage, gives us more control, and is a sign of personal growth - being able to recognize and accept change with grace. It’s time to embrace that you of today. It’s time to live the best life you’ve always imagined.
More On Decluttering
Tips for Decluttering
If it can be displayed, allow it to bring you joy every day
Letting go of items does not mean you are erasing a memory
If you love it, but it no longer serves a purpose for you, donate it and let someone else love it
If it is practical, use it
Digitizing saves a lot of space
Finish tasks immediately
It takes roughly 5 minutes each day per person to tidy up before bed
Decline free giveaways at events and hotels
Consider these questions:
Would you buy it today?
When did you use it last?
Is it associated with negative people or memories?
Are you the same person as when you bought it?
Does it bring you joy?

Having an organized home is a wonderful feeling. It looks nicer, things run more efficiently, and you can spend your time enjoying your space instead of constantly working to get things done. However, the key to staying organized is by eliminating the amount of unnecessary stuff within your home. We always keep things because we “might need it again” or we “haven’t gotten around to fixing them” or “it was a gift.” The best and most effective way to obtain an organized home is by limiting the amount of clutter we keep around. While systems are helpful when in play, buying organizational tools without minimizing things to organize, will only add to the very stuff that is overwhelming you. Keeping items that we do not use or that do not fit our current lifestyles will only add to our chaos. Take a step back and truly understand why organizational problems exist.

Harmony in your home creates harmony in your life. Applying Feng Shui to your home is like rewarding yourself with respect, gratitude, and kindness. It’s the ability to know your worth and your effort to obtain the good things you deserve. It’s the appreciation for beauty and surrounding yourself with it. And it’s committing to yourself the potential for joy, health, and positive wellbeing. Creating balance in your environment and focusing on all things good will open up the possibility for great things to come your way.

“The objective of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel happiness living within that environment”

Nobody wants to spend their spare time cleaning their home. It’s daunting and endless, and we’d rather be doing so many other things. Except that when we don’t keep our environments clean, it can cause dirt and dander to build up, soap scum to develop, and the all-too-dangerous potential for mold growth. Unsanitary homes pose a safety hazard. Then we get sick, our pets get sick, our kids get sick… cleaning our homes is just as important as personal hygiene. In fact, it is a form of hygiene. If we don’t take care of our environments, how can we take care of ourselves?
